Berg Powers Endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund

Worcester, MA- Candidate for Worcester School Committee, Dr. Cara Berg Powers was endorsed today by the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund. The PPAF works to protect and increase access to reproductive health care by advocating for state policies, electing local champions, and organizing supporters to transform Massachusetts into a national leader for reproductive health, rights, and freedom.

“As a veteran youth worker with a background in adolescent development and positive youth development and as a mother,” said Powers, “I am thankful for the work of Planned Parenthood and other WISH Task Force members on behalf of Worcester’s youth. I am proud to have earned their endorsement for my commitment to ensuring that every young person has access to the scientific facts they need to make safe choices about their bodies and relationships.”

Dr. Cara Berg Powers is an educator, advocate, wife, mother,, and Worcester Public School graduate. Cara has worked in youth development through arts and culture for the last 15 years, for the last decade as Executive Director of the Transformative Culture Project, and is on the faculty of at Worcester State University and Clarke University. Cara is currently running for the At-Large Worcester School Committee seat.
